Abolish West Point — and the other service academies, too

recent article posted in Washington Post http://www.washingtonpost.com/opini...1e1488-a1ef-11e4-9f89-561284a573f8_story.html and written by Scott Beauchamp with similar arguments to those made by Professor Bruce Flemming at Annapolis. It would appear that Mr. Beauchamp is not without controversy himself http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Thomas_Beauchamp_controversy

You don't have to worry about these people ever succeeding, it would be political suicide to vote to abolish the academy. America is deep routed in traditions and conserving our way of life. I would rather tax money go to West Point than some other organizations or government programs. It's best to ignore it, the general consensus is for usma I would think it's safe to say 2/3 or more Americans would oppose getting rid of the academies.
