Can anyone out there tell me if there are informational videos about the academy longer than like 2 minutes. That wings of Honor movie would be a good one but it comes out in December.

Try giving a call or email to your ALO about that. My dad has a BCT video from when he was an ALO, he used that video when giving presentations at schools. It's a bit outdated (very early 90's looking) but maybe current ALOs still get videos.

It's not like you have inspections every weekend. As a C4C, you definitely don't have as much free time on weekends as upper classmen. That's mainly because you don't have as many passes. But if you excel academically and in other areas, you can gain more weekend passes. And without a car, you have a lot less options. But you'll have plenty of weekend time off. I'm not speaking as a cadet. Just someone who's familiar with it. And my son is still a cadet; C2C; and his 1st year there, he had a lot of weekend time off. Granted; spent a lot of it doing homework, studying, the first semester with football. But it wasn't inspections every weekend. And he had plenty of passes to go out with us to dinner, movies, shopping, etc... (In uniform of course for most of the first year).

Depends on your Wing Commander, but you can plan on 1 a month max.

Things change, but usually there are only a few SAMI's per semester. Most weekends, you'll have Friday night, Saturday, and most of Sunday as free time. First semester has football games on a lot of Saturdays, so that will take up a lot of time, but it's not exactly work. How often you can leave will largely be dependent on your squad and your performance. Freshmen don't get many passes, but you can earn extras by volunteering for stuff or doing well in academics, athletics, or military areas. Also, some squads will restrict the entire class for poor performance, so if you are in a tough squad, you will need to do well as a team to have the option to leave on the weekend.
