Academic Probation

If a cadet is on academic probation for 2 semesters what happens?
A good source is for your Cadet to seek out guidance from his instructors and Company Leadership (Academy Staff). Strictly a guess, but if someone is on academic probation for 2 straight semesters, there is trouble on the horizon. Have them get on it right away, and do whatever is necessary to get off probation! Sometimes if it is serious enough, they can be sent home for a semester to get their academic problems worked out and then graduate either a semester or a year behind their Class. Get on it before it gets to that!

Not understanding what you said?
Your questioning his response dates you or rather dates the person who said it. It's a line from the movie Animal House where the fraternity is put under Double Secret Probation by the Dean after they screwed up one time too many. If i remember correctly, their GPA was terrible after they secretly stole the answer sheet to the midterms from the garage but only after the bad fraternity switched out the correct answer sheet with a wrong answer sheet.

As I former fraternity member, while we never did do that, we did tend to collect tests from professors who used the same 3-4 tests every year.

I just watched Animal House recently. I noticed that the class in question was Psych 101 and thought it would probably have been easier to just study than find and weaponize the answers.

If a cadet is on academic probation for 2 semesters what happens?
No clue.

But someone that is going in for AI, tutoring, working a plan, will be viewed more favorably than someone who is doing nothing to help themselves. In life, in general. Hopefully you fall into the former category.

A huge lesson that they try to teach all the way through the academy is that individuals need to learn to be team members, and that extends to requesting help when you need it. Most CGA students are high academic achievers who are not at all used to failing in their studies, so they may not be accustomed to reaching out. Certainly tell yourself you'll work harder, that you won't waste time, that you'll somehow be smarter next semester, all of those good things, but then go get some help. Roomies can be good, your company has people to help, each department has office hours if your specific prof is too busy to see you, but find someone earlier rather than too late and make progress.

And even if it is too late to fix your grades this semester (and it may not be) the demonstrated effort to use the resources available will help when it comes to deciding what happens if you do find yourself on academic probation again. There's a lot more sympathy for those who are doing everything possible vs those who just tighten up in a hard ball of effort without reaching for offered assistance.
