Academy DVD in the mail

lol, I kept the holiday postcard they sent me, as well as everything else. I even have the giant info book I borrowed from my school a year ago. It's not even useful, since it's from 5 years ago. I should probably give it back soon:shake:

Haha I pretty much have every paper related to the AFA taped to my wall. (except for the booklets, they kinda weigh too much lol)

Haha, I taped my rejection letter to the Summer Seminar on my wall as motivation. I look at it every morning.

Wow man. I got mine still, I think I might do the same, and the one from USMA.

I didnt think there was anyone else on here that was rejected from SS.

Rejected from SS too, and its funny, my ALO told me about some of her "kids" who got denied, then got an loa. Add me to that list!

I didn't get in to SS either...but I have appointment now. So I guess it all worked out.

That should definitely rule out that theory that those who get into SS are definitely accepted to the academy, because those who didn't seem to have done pretty well on their own.

i was accepted to SS and offered LOA (then appointment)... I was told that SS helps because it shows your interest, though i fully understand many who didn't get accepted were just at passionate about the academy.
on the different topic, funny thing, i also kept the academy book i "borrowed" from my school's career center office from two years ago (now slightly outdated worthless), as well as pasting the christmas car on my wall.

I quilted a blanket out of copies of my appointment letter. That's normal, right?

I did the same thing! That's crazy!

haha, jk. I wish I had one though.

Im kind of glad I didnt get accepted to SS. It only motivated me more. I would not have study as hard for ACT/SAT. Would not have gotten a 4.4 these past 2 semesters. And would not have run for Senior Class Vice President.

I just received my DVD in the mail yesterday. Still need to watch it.

Dude! I watched mine .5 seconds after I realized what it was.

dangit matt...still haven't gotten mine yet. usps really needs to step up their game i think....

Hey all, yellow padded envelope from USAFA arrived yesterday. Inside: the famous DVD and that's it: No note, letter, nothing. It is about 15 minutes long and is titled "Earning the Heart of a Falcon" It is strange, it is kind of a recruiting video with lots of interviews of cadets and graduates. It is a very well done recruiting DVD. They talk about how awesome USAFA is and end with encouragment to APPLY! Weird, my son's application is complete and his status is "Candidate" he does not have a nomination, which according to the notes must mean the academy considers him competitive but that's it. We continue to watch and wait :) Have a wonderful weekend all!

since it's taken this long, i've kinda given up hope for the dvd. would it be appropriate to rip the dvd and post it online?

yeah, i did watch the movie, and well, i was not impressed. In fact, it felt like it was made in the '80s or something, and the entire thing was a really bad CGI.
thanks, but i don't think it's the same. this one was titled "Pursuit of Excellence", not "Earning the Heart of a Falcon"... oh well:smile:

No, that's not the same one. However, I just got mine yesterday, so don't give up hope yet, PDub.
