The offices of Senator Brown, Senator Portman, and Congressman Johnson will be hosting an informational seminar on Tuesday, March 17th at the MCCTC in Canfield, Ohio. We will be joined by representatives from the academies and AFROTC.

Folks not reason to attend these meetings! The information offered is not correct. FYI if you are a person in the majority your chances of gaining an appointment are greatly reduced. Local minority female and one parent flew to USMA and she was offered an LOA on the spot. Kid never even finished the application. MOC let them interview even though the paperwork was turned in on the day of the interview when it was due 45 days before. USNA offered less qualified female in MOC's district. This information is from AC. AC is as confused as I am on what is happening. Most qualified applicant did receive ROTC's top scholarship plus a couple of appointments yet one academy has not seen what other universities do. Senator Portman we need "TRANSPARENCY" on the appointment process. You have asked for transparency in other areas why not here?

This section is typically only used to announce information events. I'm am fairly certain the Senator is not reading this site.
 
But his staff are on the site! think the poster was just giving their opinion as they see it.

But I was asking @AREYOUKIDDINGME. Do you know who he was referring to - he started his account yesterday.

I asked a question ... no right or wrong. I don’t know the answer. I just know that there is a BGO who has a son that has multiple appointments and ROTC scholarships and fits this description ... who is waiting on an appointment from USNA.

Don't know! I would guess if this is who I think it is I would also be questioning why no offer...kinda makes one wonder.

I was sort of shocked that this new poster knew about my prior posts and knew the term AC.

Either way - can’t BGOs call admissions and ask why?

I don’t want to second guess admissions - I don’t know the WCS of either or why they made this decision. Maybe you can find out and let us know? Maybe the other candidate had something good that you are unaware of?

I went back looking ... there are two BGOs with sons applying to USNA this year from Ohio?!?
 
I would never say who it is to anyone! FYI if a BGO calls admissions they will get the usual answer don't question our judgement!

LOL I am sure.

It’s pretty cool though that you and Pattern are both BGOs with ensigns and have candidates this year.
 
Lots of us BGO’s out there with Ensigns and have candidates. I know you are dying to know who I am but sorry you can probably call the former Supe, Dant or even CNO they know me.

Nope. I just find it fascinating. Especially with the new screen name @AREYOUKIDDINGME. All talking about a top candidate for USNA with multiple appointments to other SAs and ROTC scholarships ... responding in same threads. Using lingo like AC. Talking about minorities, women or majority white males with strings being pulled. And unfair process with admissions.

Gotta admit - heckuva coincidence. All three of you that know this candidate that sounds like a BGOs kid. Both BGOs with ensigns and USNA candidates.

Possibly all three from Ohio.

It doesn’t matter. I am just glad we can get out of the USNA appointment thread.
