@USAFAwannabe, as a community here, we should be willing and ready to lift each other up and celebrate each other's blessings. It's understandable for any of us (parents and candidates) still waiting for an answer and hoping for an offer to feel frustrated at this point. The tone of your reply sounds like it reflects your frustration with the overall process. You likely could have expressed your post differently.
My son is a second time applicant, his application is much stronger this year and we're in the same boat as you. It's been a long road, harder this year with all the overhead from the coronavirus situation around the world. It's easy to be frustrated or disappointed at this point.
Take a minute and reflect on the positives for YOU this year. You're a candidate to USAFA! You were nominated by your Congressman to represent our great nation. You have distinguished yourself among your peers. All of those are worth celebrating.
Statistically speaking, approximately 1 in 7 applicants just like you are selected for appointment. For each year's incoming class, approximately 30% are re-applicants. If you don't receive an appointment, it's not the end of the world, you can apply every year until age 23, shift your focus on making yourself the 1 out of 7 for next time. Take these next few months to strengthen your application for next year. If you do receive an appointment, congrats will be in order, and the community here will celebrate your blessing. Try to keep your tone positive in your posts.
