What is the acceptance rate for USMMA for qualified applicants?

Have some fun with statistical analysis here, from the primary source:

Take it with a grain of salt, as I have only heard through unofficial sources, but I believe KP tries to diversify their geographical representation in the regiment. So if you're from a state without many applicants, as long as you meet the minimum standards, you have a greater chance of being accepted.

Those numbers are kind of hard to decipher....am I the only one? Looks like if you get a nomination, meet the academic requirements and pass DODMERB...you’re about 80% chance of getting a nod?

My interpretation for the latest class is that 527 were 3Q with a nomination and 361 were offered an appointment which is around 68%. The figures below the 527 number are explaining how some candidates were not eligible because they were not 3Q. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but that is how I have always read these stats.

This isn’t a rumor. It’s required by law. You can look through the relevant CFR (...33 I think?). If you dig through my post history you can also find a link to a lawsuit where applicants in Wisconsin sued because of how KP interpreted the geographical diversity requirements. I’d do it but I’m cruising though the North Atlantic.

Great info above @USNA2023

I wonder of those 1661 applications how many have incomplete applications? On average over the last 5 years there were 1045.4 incomplete applications per the 5 year class profile on USMMA website. The regiment didn't happen to say how many applicants currently meet selection criteria?

Nah it was just a brief thing in a PowerPoint part of a weekly email they send out. They are planning to accept around 300 this year if you do the math, and around a third of those offers have already gone out. Some of those 1661 probably don't have noms or finished, but that's honestly impossible to know.

This was just sent out to the regiment as part of a weekly email
@USNA2023 THANK YOU for sharing this!! My son was put on HOLD status last night. I was scouring the forum looking to see if I could find numbers and continue to keep his hopes up! He has been so discouraged lately because our state (Ohio) has shut down school until at least April 3rd. They have stated that it may not even resume then or the rest of the year. That has been such a disappointment as his senior year has been cut short and cancelled a lot of things so far. I keep telling him, at least the hold status is not a DECLINE. Being optimistic has been difficult lately!!
