Acceptance Rate?

Hence my statement: "takes off SOME of the pressure associated with a nomnation"

We don't think we are home-free yet. But I would be more worried if he didn't have an LOA, and had to compete to win a slate, and then wait until April to know......
Welcome to our world....

IMHO, in most circumstances a MOC will find a way to get someone with a LOA on his/her slate unless the candidate gives them a reason not to (poor interview, doesn't fill out application correctly or on time, late for interview , etc). I'm sure it does happen, but more often than not a LOA will give you a higher than average chance of a nomination from one of your MOC's.
We are from Nevada too, DS last year got noms from both a senator and our congressman, and year before got noms from both senators but not the congressman. Congressman sent the letter like a week after interviews. but the senators didn't send him letters until mid-late January.....hope that helps! DS had no LOA....

Your DS got noms 2 years in a row? Congrats!

Did they not get offered an appointment 2 years ago?

Currently in their first year at USAFA?

Hey! NV here, too! You in north or south? DS applying to USAFA, too. We're in north. Have you heard from senators yet? Nothing here, but they say this week!?

My DS is not an academy applicant any more he did not receive an appointment 2 years in a row! He went the AFROTC route. I'm glad to not stress about academy stuff anymore, 2 years was enough for this mom. I hop on this forum though to help any other parents through this painstaking process, nice to see some Nevadans here. Were Northern Nevada....

Letter from Senator Rosen (NV) was in our mailbox today!

DS has nomination in hand!
CONGRATS to your DS! He’s all set! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉. Looks like I need to go to the mailbox! UPDATE: our mail delivery legit stinks. Regardless of what’s in the envelope, it’s gonna take a day or two longer than everyone else. Nothin’! 😭
