Congratulations!

Congratulations on acceptance

It has been suggested on this board briefly in another post that one or both of your parents join the Facebook group "Parents & Family of USMMA ~ Class 2016" where there's tons of advice and tips specific to the Class of 2016

Well done Swimmer

Congratulations! Now that work starts after some well-deserved celebration. Keep your "nose clean" before report day...lots of parties ahead!

Question: What level of High School Swimming "helped" you in recruiting? IAW: How good is your HS team? Hope you don't mind me asking....also: Did you reach out to the Coach or vice versa?

In any case Good Luck!

at corescue59 i swim club as well as high school. I compete at the national level which can get your name out there if your good enough. For high school my team is the best in the State as of last year and hopefully this year, we are on a 12 year dual meet win streak and its not likely to end any time soon. however, i think that coaches are more interested in the high school stuff, i have gone to state and maxed out in the number of events i can swim since freshman year. I first really got into KP when the assistant coach contacted me, after that i rushed to get the application done asap and played the waiting game until now!!!

Congratulations Superswimmer! It sounds like you have all you need to succeed in the pool at KP. I am sure you have followed the teams great successes this year. Now is the time to stay fit and be careful to avoid injury. Along with your swimming skills throw in lots of jogging so that you are ready for that at the academy as well. My DS ran more than ever in his before Indoc and actually began to like it . My DS knew what to expect, as much as one can, before he went. His first phone call home he said " I didn't know there would be so much marching". Really? I guess knowing there is a lot of marching in advance and doing lots of marching are not the same thing. best of luck and enjoy the rest of your senior year.

Swimmers tend to get shin splits and stress fractures very easily when they start running. You are aerobically in shape, so ease in to the running very, very, very slowly. Start with good running shoes and on dirt trails if possible. You need to give your body a chance to adjust to the pounding/impact of running. Congrats on your acceptance!

Welcome to the KP family:) feel free to email or post any and all questions. That goes for your parents also.

I hope my sincere congratulations provide enough good Karma to outweigh my envy at your news. Still, as we wait for news on our "hold" candidate, it's good to see that the promised appointments from the hold list are indeed, in progress.

My DS hopes to join you at Kings Point.

Congrats Superswimmer...I can feel your excitement from here:thumb: Welcome to KP and class of 2016:shake:

thanks for the tip goldenlion its really strange to me but im a sprint swimmer and somewhat of a distance runner. i havent ran in a while but i played soccer for a long time and i know what the pain feels like so i will definetly work myself back into it.

Coming from someone who swam for 12 years, if you don't mind, what kind of times do you go?

Awesome news!!!
