My son is actually at SLS as we speak. He received a letter from USCGA stating that he is qualified and is encouraged to continue the application process. However, he was not accepted to AIM. IS anyone familiar with this letter and what does it mean?

His qualifications....
Eagle Scout
SLS selectee
Boys State
710 math
625 reading
620 writing
Varsity LAX
National Honor Society
Key Club
.....and so on.

Do not be discouraged! My son applied to AIM last year and was not accepted. He was invited to the Cadet for a Day program; he attended this program and received an appointment to USCGA in March. My son’s stats sound similar to your son’s.

Thanks, that's reassuring.

My DS was the same... qualified, did not get selected in the "lottery", invited to Cadet for a Day. Similar stats to yours... he's at USNA NASS this week and while I want him to love it, I don't want him to love it too much because I really LOVE USCGA... :shake:
