Accepted to Summer Seminar!

Don't worry Christcorp, I'm just excited to be done with the hassle and move onto summer activities such as baseball and football workouts. I will enjoy my senior year because I know it could be the last chance I get to see some of my best friends, and of course my last year of sports. I just meant to have the school year over, most of us don't enjoy it that much :). PS I do have backup plans. University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is my state school. They have AFROTC and NROTC. Thanks for your advice.

My school started Aug 19 this year and will probably end around June 1 or June 2 depending on emergency days.

Oh and CC, my high school has 52 kids in my graduating class, so there is hardly anyone I don't talk to :). Thanks again though I enjoyed reading your post and I will take your advice to heart.

I have just a few more kids in my graduating class of 622. My friends and I have a running joke that at graduation we will count how many classmates we have never even seen before :yllol:.

that's a huge school. my grad class is like 160 some students.

Cardinal602 - Here in beautiful sunny warm Green Bay we started school Sept 2 and finish June 9 or perhaps later depending on how many more days we miss due to weather. My son is going to first session at USMA and third at USAFA so he has a good chance of meeting your son. We should get them talking. Where do you guys live? Is he going for the trifecta and doing USNA's second session the day after USMA? That's our son's plan right now. Makes for interesting logistics. Actually the USAFA packet said you could fly out early enough that he could've flown straight from CO Springs to Baltimore and gone from an earlier session at USAFA to USNA! I remember back when I was a high school senior I graduated on Saturday June 26 and started West Point on Thursday July 1. Not much of a break! Either I didn't know about summer seminar programs or they didn't exist back then. I worked as cadre when I was a Firstie!

wow, ok, so I graduated with 651 people. That was the smallest graduating class of the 6 high schools in my district! The larger ones were graduating 800+ people! The newest one back home will graduate 1000 in two years! When I hear any classes of less than 200 I can't imagine. lol.

I can't imagine more than my 50! The town 15 minutes from where my mom graduated from has 400ish? in their classes now. When my mom graduated it was 650ish.

My school has over 2000 students right now, and that is just grades 10-12. The current sophmore class has about 750 students.

I'm new to these forums, i just found them on Google searching for anybody else who has been accepted into the USAFA SS. Congrats to those of you who will be going, I got my acceptance email friday, and I'l be there for the 3rd session from 15-19 June. Is there anybody else who will be there for the 3rd session?

Shelton1014 i will be attending session c also. it was the best time for me as i am attempting to go to army and navy ss also. is anyone else going that time?

additionally, is anyone trying to go to the army and navy too, or am i the only one?

I'm all Air Force, so I didn't see any purpose in applying elsewhere for the SS. If I don't get accepted to the USAFA, I'm going to go to the University of Memphis and take AFROTC. Which academy do you think is your priority?

Congrats you guys on getting into SS. (I see all you people online right now just lurking. get on flashchat!)

Shelton add yourself to the thread for all the participants. I was hoping we could get people here from google searches on the SS!

Like I said, I'm new to these forums... By that, did you mean to subscribe to this thread? If so, I just did; if not, please explain. :thumb:
Thanks

DadandGrad,
We're from Northern New Jersey.
School starts the Wednesday after Labor Day and ends June 19th.
My son is not going for the trifecta. He must take exams sometime.

I will also apply to the Naval Academy's summer seminar, as navy is my second choice. I'm not sure if I will be able to fit it in because the only session I would be able to attend is C, from June 13-18. This same week I could also counsel at girl scout camp or attend a week of sailing camp with my Sea Scout Ship :frown:. I guess I have some decisions to make.

Air Force is my number one priority beyond any doubt what so ever, but I am going to the other ones as they are my backup schools. Navy is my second choice and Army a distant third.

Well graduation for me is June 1st. Then I have until June 25 to spend time with family. Then it's off to the Air Force Academy for BEAST .
