If you used to have mild acne and it left scars and you used accutane to get rid of it, is that still disqualifying? Even if you don't use it anymore?

My knowledge, going through this with my own son who is just now finishing up a course, is that they need you done by a certain amount of time (I believe 6 weeks) before reporting, and with NORMAL bloodwork (they inquired about liver function blood tests). DS reported using accurate on his medical inquiry. He received AMI’s to have his DR completes form stating end of treatment (soon for DS), and that there was/wasn’t normal liver function bloodwork. DS has his DERM full it out and when he returned the form, was qualified in a couple days.

I am very confident there is nothing related to scarring. No concerns about your appearance. There will be concerns about treatment dates that get closer to Iday.

Feel free to message me if you have questions.

Gaaaah....apologies for the typos.

I believe (please don't hold me to it) that the AMI for acne has a question relating to scarring. They just want to make sure you can wear any issued clothing, and that a mask or other protective gear (firefighting, gunnery, damage control, chemical gear, etc) will not cause any aggravation of the acne. In training candidates will be expected to be able to "suit up" and perform all mission requirements and maintain a seal on equipment. I think I recall it was a "self reporting" form, meaning no doctor, just the candidate stating they can wear anything and perform all required duties.
