Acne treatment besides Accutane?

For DS under consideration for ROTC Scholarship. I’ve been searching the boards and want to find accurate information on what is acceptable for acne treatment. I know Accutane is not allowed 4 months prior. How about antibiotics or Retin A cream? Is there a publication that states what is acceptable? Are acne scars a problem on his back? Just want him squared away if selected, without any difficulties in the process. Thank you!

Does anyone know if topical retin-A cream like Tretinoin 1% is considered a systemic retinoid and therefor subject to disqualification if you've received an AROTC 4-yr scholarship? I can see that systemic retinoids are disqualifying but I can't determine whether that one is considered to fall...

As for antibiotics, I believe that unless they are expressly listed as disqualifying (like Accutane until 4 wks after therapy), they are fine.
