ACT/SAT Testing

I am reading this right now! It's an amazing book filled with so much useful info, the information on the essay alone is worth the price of the book. We are not in an area that offers SAT prep in schools or even through local businesses. Very small number of high school graduates go on to college. I wish I had followed her blog and been more aware of the resources available online, etc. for DS #1; DS #2 (7th grade), will be much better prepared!!

I saw on the news that they are changing the SAT's once again! Very, very different from what they are now. A few examples: no mandatory essay, calculators for only part of the math, less "weird" vocabulary words, and more words that will actually be encountered in college, no partial point deducted for wrong answers. Those are just the few things I remembered. They also talked about how they don't believe that the SAT's are a true measure of how someone will do in college and that higher socio-economic classes have an advantage as they typically can afford the high-priced prep courses.
Later tonight I will fool around and find the actual report on this, it sounds interesting.

You're a little late to the party.
