Hello Everybody!
On the Candidate Booklet, it says the ACT Writing is optional, does that mean they still look at it? If they do will it be subscores or the ACT English/Writing Combined Score?

Also my school sends my plan and psat scores (Unhappy scores) along with my ACT scores, USAFA Doesn't even look at the plan and psat right?

From what I understand, PLAN and PSAT is not part of the application aka it wouldn't help or hurt. Also from what I understand, you need to take all sections of the ACT, and they will all be be considered by admissions, but the writing section of the SAT is required, but not considered for your scores.

hmm I'm confused, my best score in the writing portion has been 12, should I still retake just to raise my combined English/writing, or should I just take the normal ACT just to raise my English section only?

Our son took SAT verbal, math, and writing. He then took the ACT to see if he scored higher (which he did ). He did not take the ACT writing since he had already taken the SAT writing. Since he got an LOA in early Oct., I would say it does not matter which writing you take - just need to take at least one of them.
