Hey guys active duty member here. I’m really really interested in attending USMMA specifically the prep school. I checked y’all website and talked to some people from the school and they say I’m guaranteed to get in just because I’m AD. I’ve been out of school for a while and I hope they understand that which is why I need to attend a prep school for a complete refresher. I did apply last cycle but never finished the paper work my ******* applied to all 5 academies to see what I could get and got overwhelmed because I was working 16+ hour days just from the nature of my job. It’s no longer like that anymore so I’m taking the time to train in all aspects to make myself look good. As of right now I am doing CBRN/medical work/qualifications I am working on trying to get my fire inspector license so I can come up with a compelling resume. Big thing is the CO recommendation which is hard to get. For my AD guys what can I do to get his recommendation besides doing my job. I was thinking getting an appointment with my home state/stationed senator but that’s all I can think of. Any help?

Keep your eyes in the boat and don't get overwhelmed by doing things that you think will make you "look good." Concentrate on completing your application as soon as possible with your best possible work put into each section. No, you are not guaranteed to get an appointment just because you are AD, but that is a factor in your favor. Also, when you write about being overwhelmed by 16-hour days, be advised that a 16-hour day is a short day for a plebe at any academy. Good luck to you!

Keep in mind the maximum age requirement. You must not have passed your 25th birthday before July 1 in the year of entrance to USMMA.

The CO recommendation for Active Duty? At least from a Navy perspective, you would be talking with the Career Counselor and then routing a special request. The CO recommendation would largely be based on your previous evaluations. Not sure I am tracking what you mean by "what can I do to get his recommendation?"
