Hello all,

DS has completed the DODMERB process and is showing qualified for USMA, USNA, and USAFA.

His Army ROTC application just cleared a hurdle, and now indicates it is waiting on DODMERB.

Is there any action he needs to take to initiate a DODMERB review since he has already completed the academy process?

Or do they just qualify using the existing exam info, and add the AROTC qualification?

I'm sure Mr. Mullen will concur, but when your AROTC scholarship is awarded that DoDMERB will be notified and will review his files and post the results in fairly short order. There should be no efforts necessary on your (or your son's) part to kick off that review. Just kick back and wait for your status to change.

If you have reason to believe that indeed he has been awarded an AROTC scholarship in this first board and you really can't wait, Mr. Mullen's email address is all over here. Send the name and last 4 of SSN with your question. He works with lots of us overanxious parents. :yllol:

Thanks, Mr Mullen!

What was confusing is that the AROTC application status indicates "You are currently eligible, pending medical qualification from Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board (DODMERB), for participation in the Army ROTC Scholarship Program."

Makes it sounds like DODMERB qualification is a prerequisite.

DS was hoping to make the October board, but it's now looking like it will be the January board based on the one email he received back from AROTC.

Regarding the ever helpful Mr Mullen, my son still has your business card from when you spoke to him at one of the Academy days. We greatly appreciate the input & time that you put in helping the candidates!
