Does anyone know what address we should put down for sending in a birth certificate? Also, I sent in my appointment acceptance a while ago (Feb. 9th) prior to obtaining a copy of my BC to send in, but have not had any notification as to whether or not the academy received it. Do they usually notify you of their receipt of the acceptance?

Thanks!

From last summer's PTR packet I saw the below in reference to proof of citizenship and police record check -

"If you lost the return envelope from your Offer of Appointment, send your proof of citizenship and police record check to:
U.S. Naval AcademyOffice of Admissions
Attn: Nominations and Appointments 52 King George Street
Annapolis, Maryland 21402-1318 "

There is no notification that they received your acceptance. You'll know if you haven't received your PTR by late April - people will start posting here when the PTRs start arriving.

Sorry - the formatting of address was screwed up above - here is the corrected version:

U.S. Naval Academy
Office of Admissions
Attn: Nominations and Appointments
52 King George Street
Annapolis, Maryland 21402-1318

The USPS will not add tracking or notification to the "Business Reply" envelope provided. They suggest a SASE with your birth certificate for quick return. That's how my DS knew they received his acceptance. He got his BC back in the mail.

Call admissions and ask them what address to send to...and check that they received your acceptance. Don't assume it got there...as Reagan once said, "Trust, but verify".
