Hello all,

I was diagnosed with ADHD in my sophomore year of high school. I started taking Adderall the next year and throughout the rest high school and my first semester of freshman year of college. I hardly used the medication and it did not help me. I am a bit concerned about this since most places seem to list you need to be off them for 15 months. My last prescription was 10 months ago. I have done well in college and have a 3.6 GPA. I joined AFROTC this fall as a 250 and am currently in the DoDMERB process (have my medical examination in about a week). I have seen a lot of things online and I was wondering what my chances are of getting through with a waiver or just in general. Just for context, the doctor who diagnosed me can provide a written letter stating I am fit for military service and that I no longer am affected or need medication (will not be prescribed again). Additionally, since I will have been off meds for several years before I commission (and a considerable amount of time before I would contract) would I be ok? Any info or help would be much appreciated as it is a stressful and complicated process, especially being newer to everything.
