How often do the boards meet and when. I really want to finish my application before September 1 but that may not happen because I may need 2 more weeks to prepare fully for my CFA. I took my cfa today and let's just say I didn't do well, so I was hoping to finish my CFA by next week. Considering the small amount of time, I may have to wait 2 more weeks which is after the September 1 deadline. Thanks for you help.

I'm pretty sure it starts meeting in October. And it re-adjourns every week? But that I'm not positive of..

I finished my application mid october, 17th I think, and got an LOA a little less than a month later, followed by my appointment 2 weeks after that. Just get it in when you can, but make sure you're comfortable with all your scores and records and all. Bad thing to do would be to turn it in really early, but have it not be as competitive as it could have if you turned it in a month later. I'm sure people have lost appointments that way.

Agree. The Boards start meeting in September, but run continuously through the Fall & Spring. While I would not dally, please take you time & get you application where it needs to be first.

Board review-general questions

Can one's application go before the board if everything is done except the ALO interview? When in September is the first board review and do they then meet weekly? Do they let one know when your app has gone through board review? Is there any other notification (aside from possibly getting an LoA, which we all know is not the main goal!) that might be received after one's app goes before the review board?

The answer is NO, your package is not complete until the ALO interview is complete and the ALO has completed the AF FM4060 and submitted it to USAFA, it's been "peer reviewed" by the USAFA/RR folks, and "accepted."

I will also tell you that, at least in OUR UNIT in Arizona, WOE be unto the ALO that prevents a candidates package from meeting ANY selection board because they have completed the interview but NOT submitted the 4060. :rocket:

The next answer is "no" they will not let you know your package has been reviewed or "met" a selection board. Suffice it to say, if the package is 100% complete, it will meet the very first board its eligible to meet (the next one coming up) and every one after that.

Bottom line: you complete the package, and then.....

You wait.

It's NOT fun, but that's just how it is.
