With the internet down does anyone know whether or not the admissions board met yesterday?

Unless something changed our DD's BGO said the first board will be the first week of Sept.

Not sure. However, I was at the Yard last week, and the admissions counselor said that this week's board meeting was a practice. The real ones start next week.

Just curious ...why are people worrying about when the Admissions Board meets ? If you're watching for a change in status, or perhaps thinking the first meeting will generate the coveted LOA , my advice would be sit back and relax. Admissions doesn't necessarily review applications on a First In /First Out basis. In fact, I have seen applications completed during the summer not reviewed until end of the cycle. Even if DD/DS submitted their application last spring, it is still more likely than not that the first thing that you will hear is next spring. CGO doesn't report (and BGO's are not supposed to reveal) if a Candidate "passes" the Admissions Board . Bottom line, once you have the application submitted, its out of your hands- relax, get your MOC nominations , work on Plan B applications, and enjoy your Senior year.

So the BGO does know when your package has been reviewed by the board?

So the BGO does know when your package has been reviewed by the board?

Short Answer -- Yes. We see changes in status of each of the 3 "Q's " - Admissions Board, Medical, and CFA ., so we know when the Admissions Board has reviewed your package and whether a candidate is 3Q. We also see can see changes in Offer Status and sources of Nomination.

That being said, DO NOT CONTACT YOUR BGO to ask if you package has been reviewed, what the status is, etc. BGO's are instructed not to provide this information. While some probably do, it can be the source of false hope or disappointment. Asking your BGO isn't going to change anything, so I'll say it for the first time this cycle -- BE PATIENT, and let the process work.
