Admissions Notifications?

Wonderful

This is such a great story. A true visual entry to the Roller Coaster ride.

Thanks

:smile:Thanks Lynpar and 17TexasMom,

This has been quite an exciting time. I am so grateful for the FB group as well, there is a wealth of knowledge and information on that site! I guess the next few months we will plan for graduation, get through basketball and baseball seasons, all while bubble wrapping my DS, :yllol:.....

17TexasMom, I think your suggestion of starting a new thread for appointments is a good one (like the USNA one). I will let you start it!

Appointment thread

I can't start it - DS is just LOA with a conditional..... I am going crazy waiting for him to get the CFA done, and they wanted 7th semester grades which are not out until Jan 20th. (I think). I am just terribly shock and excited about the LOA. I didn't think we would know until closer to March.

But I think you fortunate ones that already have the appointment notification should start one.

I see 17TexasMom.....I wouldn't stress too much about the CFA because it is pass/fail. I think they just want a decent level of fitness. Maybe your DS should call admissions and ask what the passing standards are. Good luck to you and your DS, I am sure all will work out!

Don't ask about CFA

I had the same question. Don't call and ask about minimums. It will look bad. Just get it done early and submitted. On the off chance that they don't like one of the scores, they will let you know. Getting it done soon gives you time to repeat in case something goes wrong. DD had a bad mile run the first time. She decided it was warm enough to run outside but didn't take the wind and bulk of clothes into account. Luckily her gym teacher was nice enough to schedule a retake over the holiday. Otherwise she would have been up against the 30 day window.

Admission/Acceptance

For my 2016 DS, his application was not considered complete until the nomination was included. Then he was "wait listed", and lo and behold the Congress person called our home to notify him of his appointment..In April.

CFA is truly pass fail. Candidate should have received a file which tells what the minimum, average, and best scores are for each of the 6 tests. Also understand for example, if they fall below the minimum in the mile, but kill the sit ups, on average they are ok. Bottom line it is an overall level of fitness on which the P/F, not P/F on each test.

Should they get appointed, any deficient areas will be, ahem, corrected at the school...LOL. Good luck. It is quite the ride!

My DD applied to USAFA and used their CFA guidelines. Theirs are posted in the candidate information manual on line. She used her CFA results for USMMA and USAFA she maxed most but not all, you need to get at least the minimums. Check out the CFA numbers it will give you a gauge of where you stand physically.
