Admissions called and said DD’s application incomplete (waiting on BGO interview). Offered assistance to complete. Is this usual?

I've not heard of this happening unless an application has been complete for some time (usually at least a few weeks) pending a BGO interview. My guess (it's only that) is that they are looking for records to review early in the process and would like to expedite your DD's record since it's OW complete.

If your DD and BGO have not made contact regarding an interview date, this would be a good time for her to reach out to the BGO. If an interview has been scheduled but not yet completed, your DD should let Admissions know. If your DD has tried to contact the BGO several times without success, then Admissions may feel the need to step in.

In terms of "assistance," this likely means Admissions will contact the Area Coordinator, who will contact the BGO and either suggest the interview occur soon or offer to assign another BGO to get it done.

It's hard to provide guidance without knowing where things stand b/t your DD and her BGO.

This is what I was thinking - the peak flow rate hasn’t been hit yet, so they are looking for any apps close to completion to move along.

We called the BGO he thought he had submitted it back in June. Redid last night...He said he had never heard of them calling like this before...

My son got a phone call last year the first week of September then an email stating they would review his completed file with the VP nom he had submitted. It ended with another phone call asking for last years English teacher who was on medical leave to redo his evaluation. November was offered a CVW for January/February then appointment in February.

A few years ago, some mids who had recently graduated were temporarily assigned to work in admissions due to a backlog in where they were assigned to go next. At that time, it gave them something productive to do so they would call/follow-up with those in the application process. Not sure if that might also be true this year.

It is common to "stash" a few recent grads in Admissions (and other Administrative positions through the Yard), as well as a variety of positions that support of Plebe Summer. The various primary training schools like Pensacola, SWOS, etc. simply can't take the influx of 1000 graduating USNA Midshipman , plus all the ROTC grads,at the same time...so this is a way to put the new Ensigns /2nd LT's to work while waiting. Hanging around Annapolis for a few months isn't a bad deal !
