Does anyone know what the difference is between the admissions process for a regular candidate and for a recruited athlete? I am a little confused as to how they are different...as people have been telling me they are. Thanks :D:confused:

There are some differences for football and men's/women's basketball because of NCAA rules. BGOs aren't involved with these candidates. Also, recruited athletes for any sport go on "official" visits rather than do CVWs. Finally, the coach will likely discuss the candidate at the Admissions Board meeting where that candidate is reviewed.

Beyond that, I'm not aware of any differences, although someone else may enlighten me.

i will relate what happened with my dd (a swimmer). coaches emailed her last fall indicating interest, met w/her in january (since SAs are allowed by NCAA to make contact other than email after dec 1 of jr. year). coaches have provided great guidance but told my dd that she still has to go through the normal process.

i did not know about them being at the board meeting but that is comforting. she got in session 1 of nass and they emailed her right after that they look forward to seeing her in june.
