Can you be offered appointment without your 7th semester transcript submitted? From what I've read, a decent amount of appointments will come out mid-january if the trend is the same as years past. I am 3Q with a nom, but still waiting on my counselor to finish the transcripts, so I'm just wondering if you can be appointed if you meet all requirements but are missing the 7th semester transcript.

If you’re 3Q’d with a nom then you definitely can! Don’t stress yourself out too much about timing though, too many factors

I have seen others who received appointments without 7th semester transcripts (all were 3Q+Nom+LOA)... but again they all had LOA's

But, a good question... anybody out there can share?

I think normally if an appointment is granted (at any time) it is contingent on maintaining academic proficiency, medical standards, and good conduct (no legal trouble) until reporting day. But I agree a lot of candidates (especially athletes) get appointments early. Last year there were a ton of appointments prior to the middle of Jan (when most fall grades are released). Just remember an appointment is not admission, you are not in till the day you raise your right hand...:)

I have a question about DS has all green checks on his application including a MOC nomination, passed the physical and the fitness test.
transcripts have all been received and test scores
does this mean he is 3 Q
Where would it say that on the portal ?

My DS has 3.9 GPA, 32 ACT, DODMERB Qualified and an excellent CFA and has not been notified that he is 3Q. I think it depends on the RC.

I think Roadking is right about it depending on the RC. Your DS is most likely 3Q. My DS did receive a letter in the mail stating he was qualified academically, medically, and physically and would be added to the NWL. This letter was never put on the portal. Some have made comments that their letter was put on the portal, but not sent to them. Some regions may not get letters. I think it has more to do with "style" of the RC than qualifications.

Those are great stats. My DS has a 3.4 GPA 32 on the ACT with a 36 in English, DODMERB qualified, and had a great CFA. His school does not rank, primarily because it is really hard. Out of 120 boys, 13 are national merit semi or commended. So the peer group is pretty smart. That being said he is pretty average for his class, so I think that may hurt his chances. He is a an Eagle Scout and remained in and earned palms , JR Scout leader, Leader for the group hike at Philmont etc, varsity CC 4 years, team captain 2, varsity track4 , team captain 1,. just ran a major marathon, raised money for St. Jude and placed 3 in age group ( 3:19 ) He is super fit
He has the leadership stuff, and the ACT score. The GPA is not terrible but not high, hoping They can put it in the context of his school. The local RC did tell him that they realize the school he goes to is much harder than most so we will see.
He is currently under review for a ROTC scholarship with acceptances to the Citadel, VMI and some state schools with ROTC programs, so there are good plan Bs in place
The process seems so inconsistent. At least all of his stuff is in and there is nothing more to do on that end. Senior year, first semester has been stressful for sure.

DS high school does not rank as well. DS was told by FFR that this is a good thing for him because we are also in a competitive school district and they will use his ACT to rank him. Even though he has a good GPA, the ACT score of 32 will rank him higher than he would have been using GPA. This is because he is ranked nationally using the ACT which puts him in the 98th percentile. In short it is more WCS points this way, so better for your boy.

What is important is that all the little boxes in the portal have the green check mark. Don't worry about feedback. Control what you can and do not worry about the rest. It is perfectly normal to hear NOTHING from the day you complete your submission to the day you are surprised with a purple box in your portal or the BFE unceremoniously landing on the doorstep.
We hear that it will be the end of January before the big opening wave of appointments comes out this year. So, buckle up and enjoy this last year of high school and family time.

Once files are complete hopefully meeting the 31 Jan deadline, it takes time for Admissions to qualify the separate pieces. Different groups and teams do different parts and pieces. Reach out to your field force rep for your status. You cannot see it on your portal (they can) and (depending on their style) may or may not share with you your status up until the time a file is marked overall "qualified." Sometimes DODMERBs are still going on too so that has to be waited on...

DD is in exactly the same position- our high school couldn't rank since her class is VERY small (<20). ACT 32, GPA 3.7 DODMERB qualified, great CFA. Pages of community leadership, and recognition in her sport (she is internationally competitive), and no 3Q letter, or LOA yet. But to be fair, she didn't start the application process until last week of August. We are amazed at how quickly it has all gone up to this point.
