The last item remaining for my son's USNA application is the CFA and notice of nomination. My concern is that he hasn't done any conditioning (other than some signifigant swimming in his junior college swim class) since football ended 4 weeks ago. Question: should one train for a few weeks to get a better score or do their best/get it done and turned in ahead of others?

His test scores are verbal: very high :thumb:
math: just below average :frown:
and community service/extracurriculars: very good

Have him take a practice test; if he does well, he can take it for real, otherwise some serious conditioning is in order.

Average CFA scores are posted in one of the stickies on this page. Key events for USNA are mile run, push-ups and crunches.

Thank you for your replies.

I realize now the question is precipitous. Of course, he needs to take a practice test to see where he stands. I'm trying to keep calm and level-headed. I want him there so much.
