Update
- Colorado, Class of 2021 (HS does not post class rank), GPA 3.6 uw, 4.4 w, tons AP classes, ACT 35, NHS, Boys State, NASS, Civil Air Patrol Billy Mitchell Award & Flight Sergeant, Varsity Crew Team, Mission Trip
- 3Q+Nom to USNA.... but no USAFA nom. Targeting career as military pilot. Received word from third MOC last night and bummed out about losing shot at USAFA.

Strategy 1: Pray for USNA appt
Strategy 2: ROTC at CU, reapply to USAFA & USNA (if no appt) in 2021
Strategy 3: Call new VPOTUS and beg
Strategy 4: ?

I tell this story a lot this time of year. DD had noms for USNA and USMA, but not for USAFA. Not surprising, since our MOCs coordinate slates and we’re in a region where USAFA is very popular.

Lo and behold, a few days before national decision day of May 1, she got an LOA from USAFA, pending a nom. A day later, they said they’d found her a nom, just like that. She never learned where it came from. But it underlines the advice above: If an SA wants you, they’ll find a way to get you.

Crew lends itself well to USNA. USNA admissions seems behind this year! I have a feeling you will get a nod there. I have a friend that I fly with that lives in Denver and crewed at USNA (flew F-18s). Who's your nom from? Being in CO, I'm sure you would prefer USAFA. There still is hope there! I have several F-16 buds that did CU ROTC. With your resume, I'm sure you will have options. Strategy 4: Look into Buckley! Guaranteed F-16 if they hire you. Good luck!

Strategy 3: Call new VPOTUS and beg

As a reminder to applicants - the VP cedes the decisions regarding assignment of VP nominations to the SA. While I understand this option was probably mentioned in jest, please remember to use appropriate and professional communications to all parties related to a potential SA nomination.

[Parental moment has concluded. You may now return to your regular programming.]

I son wanted Navy originally, never got a nom...3 to USAFA.....ended up there. He was disappointed at first but landed where he was meant to be. We are an hour from Annapolis so that would have been nice, but things happen for a reason. Good Luck!
