The results of the fourth AFROTC board are supposed to be posted tomorrow.

Anyone else waiting to hear back?

Does anyone know if you have already been reviewed by a previous board and not selected, are you given another chance at the next board?

What does your portal say? Your portal will display 1 of 3 messages:

1) Congratulations! You've been selected for a scholarship etc etc
2) Your application met the board and you were not selected for a scholarship.
3) Your application met the board and you were not selected for a scholarship. However, based on your rank on the board, your application will be meeting the next board. You will be receiving written confirmation via mail within the next few weeks.

If you got message #3, your application met the next board. If you got message #2, it didn't.

Good luck to those still waiting, the news from the last board should be out by the end of the week. I hope all of your dreams come true. Please let us know how things turn out. God Bless!

My son's online scholarship tracker status changed just this morning to "Congratulations!..." We are very excited around here!!!
These message boards have been very helpful along the way. Thanks!!!

Texas Fight,
Congrats to your DS, I am sure you are very proud of his accomplishments! Glad to see the last AFROTC board results coming out. What type scholarship did he get and what university does he plan to attend?

FlyingWildcatDad,
Thanks for the well wishes! We're not sure what type of scholarship type yet. The online message said details will be in the mail. My son will be attending the Univ of Texas as a mechanical engineering major. We're Texas residents so we're not too worried about scholarship type; we're just happy to have one given the competitiveness this year. He would have joined AFROTC anyway, but a scholarship really helps seal the deal.
Best of to everyone else, too!

Texas Fight,
Type wasn't all that important to my DS either. His first choice school, although out of state, gives in state tuition rates to cadets on scholarship. My DS was awarded a Type 7 technical from the first board, which was as good as a Type 1 to us. DS will be attending the University of Kentucky!

Turns out I got a Type 7 Technical, not what I wanted to hear, but a scholarship is a scholarship I guess.
Currently my top choice is doing ROTC at Rose-Hulman which has a cross town agreement with ISU. Yet the scholarship only talks about instate, so would the scholarship not even apply for me? (I am out of state, and Rose is a private school anyways.) Do I have to switch it to 3 year, and I'd have to pay the remaining $20 grand in loans plus all of freshman year? :frown:
Guess I should really start applying for more scholarships.

airobot111,
That's correct! To use your scholarship to a private out of state university like Rose, you will have to convert the Type 7 to a Type 2 three year scholarship. And yes, you will be on your own dime for your Freshman year and for any tuition expense above $18,000 for the last three years.

Congrats to your son. Mine received the TWEs from USAFA and USNA last week so Plan B has been activated. My son will be there too as a mechanical engineering major or aerospace. He's still deciding. What date will your son be there for his freshman orientation? If they're there at the same time we should have them introduce themselves. If not I'm sure they will meet up soon enough.
