My son's award email states that one of the reasons he was awarded a Type 2 "Any Approved Major" scholarship. But where does one find a list of approved majors? He followed the link to the holmcenter site but no majors are shown. Thanks.

Why not check the AFROTC web site here: https://www.afrotc.com/scholarships/desired-majors/
I'm not sure this is a complete list and the name of the major may be different at different colleges, but still qualify. The cadre at any unit you're considering can answer the question for their college.
I did, but I noted the phrasing "desired" vs. the letter wording of "any approved." The award email has contact info, so we can call them tomorrow. Knowing the "approved majors" will be helpful because some colleges want specific majors to apply to the respective school.
This phrasing is new to us because my older son was awarded for a foreign language and my daughter was awarded for a technical major.

https://www.serviceacademyforums.com/index.php?threads/afrotc-approved-majors.60252/ That's a good rundown.

The intent is to prevent basket-weaving degrees on AFROTC's dime. Most majors will be approved. Some will only be approved if part of additional accreditation (ABET-accredited engineering is the most common here).

@kinnem is correct-- have your son contact his Det and ask. They will likely have a short list of majors to avoid. All others would be acceptable.

Got it! Thanks for the link. But in terms of contacting his detachment, he has no detachment yet since he hasn’t been accepted to any colleges. Although the detachment from his top choice already emailed him inviting him to reach out with questions. That was quick on their part.
