AFROTC Board #2

Good luck all! My DD accepted a Commander’s Scholarship Friday so she is out of the national board. Curious how she would’ve faired because she aced the interview (hence the CS) but it was her choice and she is happy but still hoping for that academy appointment!
 
Does anyone have any info on how many commander's leadership scholarship recipients get the type 1 in the national hssp?

Yah, I'm assuming no chatter because results aren't out yet? Haven't heard anything here. We know little about the process - how notifications are made, are they all the same or different, is it in the portal first or is it usually last to update? Have no idea, as most of you all, he is just waiting...
 
According to the Holmcenter portal, results will come out on Friday in the portal. To see that, click the “you’re eligible“ box. If you’re a service academy applicant as well, check your DODMERB portal before Friday. The day before I was notified of receiving an NROTC scholarship, I was deemed medically qualified for NROTC in the DODMERB portal.
 
My DD received a CLS on 2/19 prior to the new board reconvening to Penn State. I have to say that upon the Commander of the Detachment submitting by 5pm that Friday, by 6:30 THAT NIGHT, her Wings portal had updated saying scholarship offered. They were VERY fast. And as of today it's approved, and just waiting until May when the To Do List will populate.

FYI, if you DO receive an offer, the only task you have to do to accept will be to upload the Letter of Admission to the university WITH the major you have requested for AF ROTC. My DD had to get the school to change the letter to reflect it exactly and had no issues.

This is usually when someone comments that it says "on or about" March 5th. My son's notification was several days past the "on or about" date when he applied a few year back.

Yes, was just going to say the same. Thanks for the heads up that they've come in later in prior years - good to know.

My DD...her DODMERB request appeared Monday following her Friday notification.
 
No updates in my DS portals either. I'm thinking that, "on or about the 5th", may mean next week. While we wait, check out Tom Petty in the link below,"The Waiting is the Hardest Part".

 
Nearly had a panic attack when I checked my phone and it didnt display the eligibility status, thankfully it’s just mobile doesn’t work and it still shows on the laptop.
