AFROTC Board #2

If you are trying to ask how many people who get the type 1 commanders scholarship from the college commander end up getting a type 1 in hssp, once you accept a commanders scholarship you are pulled out of the HSSP boards. Most commanders scholarships are usually given before the boards meet because if you see what scholarship you get first it can pull you away from going to that detachment. I was never able to see what I would of gotten, but I can assure you for me atleast I would not of get a type 1. a 1340 SAT with a 94 GPA with only 2 AP classes and no leadership activities. You may be able to find a statistic somewhere but most people probably got it before the HSSP results were out. Of the other 3 commander scholarship cadets at my detachment, 2 of them fit the bill for a type 1 pretty well but there's no way to tell if they would of gotten it in the HSSP.
I'm trying to see how many people got a type 1 in the HSSP after rejecting the CLS because that is currently my situation. I plan on going into a tech major, but my local detachment's host school as well as its crosstowns don't really have many opportunities for people like me. Having applied to many great engineering schools across the country, I chose to take the chance.
Was this dumb? Possibly, but I guess only time will tell.

Anxiously checking Dodmerb to see if anything popped up early (nothing here). Anyone else see anything different? At this point DS has picked his school with great merit and plans to participate in AFROTC regardless which is a great feeling. Scholarship would be icing on the cake though!

Nothing changed in DS's DODMERB either. DS is excited about his university choice (we are 99% sure) with or without AFROTC scholarship. Hubby was an Air Force OTS guy, so DS understands there are more paths to commissioning outside of the academies and ROTC. I am happy that he is happy and I am thrilled that he will be in state.

Does the DODMERB portal generally change before the actual AFROTC portal? DS checked his portal this morning and still shows eligible and then of course the results on or around April 13th decision date.

Our DS had some activity in his DoDMERB portal (separate from his SA information) Based on the activity - guessing it's related to AFROTC but don't know for sure. Like everyone else, waiting for a notification from AFROTC.

Does is say AFROTC? Still nothing but Academy stuff, although the exam document is now showing but I do not think it's related.

My husband is an OCS (Army) guy. He was enlisted first and the military life is all my son knows. It helped him know what he wanted ( and definitely didn't want).

Interesting! Just checked DS's DODMERB account and now his account also shows the exam document (did not show it this morning).

What is DODMERB? I have applied for the AFROTC scholarship and it says I'm eligible. I have seen a lot of talk about " DODMERB" in these forms and I feel like im missing out on something.

if you have not applied to academies then it may be new to you...it is the medical authority you must pass if awarded a scholarship

It is the medical screening all must go through. Those that applied to the service academies have already completed it and the information will just transfer over to the AFROTC scholarship side.

Nope, not yet. I'm honestly just waiting for them to postpone again at this point.

Last time two times the date changed in the morning, so I think we'll find out today. I heard maybe tonight around 5pm EST.

I thought the first delay was later in the day though, which made people more upset, but I could be wrong.

I applied to USAFA so my DODMERB portal was already activated, but I do not see AFROTC on there. Is this a bad sign?
