Hi, I am currently a Highschool Junior, looking to apply for AFROTC starting this June. I just recently decided that joining the military was what I wanted, so I am a little late in preparing.
I really have nothing to show for athletics, and extracurriculars and volunteer is quite lacking. I just didn't care for these, but only found out about their importance too late.
Although, I could come back with good grades, with A's,
I took AP Euro sophomore year,
Taking AP- Environmental Science, US History, English, and Seminar --so far my grades on these classes are very good, consistent A's
I am planning on taking, AP-Computer Science, Biology, US Gov and Politics, and dual enrollment classes (idk which specific class yet bc its still February)
My physicals are somewhat good, but because of being inactive athletically, it could be better. Im 5'8, 140lbs, Filipina
I have a couple of months to improve my physicals tho
I'm also interested in taking Computer Science, or any tech major, and looking at colleges around VA,
My picks include: George Mason University, Virginia Tech, James Madison University
Also, idk if relevant, but two of my brother in laws enlisted for the Navy, and have been serving for years.
I am quite new and still researching all things-ROTC and USAF, but I know that this is what I want. But if it doesn't work out, NROTC is my second choice.
What are my chances of getting in with these stats? And what could I do to improve them? With the time span I have between now and 2020 june, can I improve my leadership credibility?
Any advice, thoughts, opinions, 2 cents, tips, and anecdotes is very much appreciated!
