The fact is Alpha is the one to take heed in what Mbit is saying. The military is not going to hold ERAUs DS copeable in any part of how she acts. They may sit him down and have a friendly chat to tell him, that although she is his Mom, he is going to have to edit what he says to her.
~ Many times, even now 25 years of marriage I will ask Bullet something with the caveat of or is that is something you will have to kill me if you tell me?
Parents will eventually get it. Commands understand that familiar relationship and how many have never been in the military and don't understand.
Let's remember this situation is not like going to deploy tomorrow for the Ukraine and they are calling the folks with their departure time. It is a flipping number/percentage for EAs.
~~~ Should it be released publicly on a forum before the official release? No, but it is not the OMG issue I think it is being made into.
For alpha, that is different and it is where I agree with Mbitr. This forum is def. NOT anonymous and there are many lurkers who are members of cadres around the country. Enough posts and they know if it is a cadet in their command.
~ Us me as an example. How many people do you think have a DS at UPT, Del Rio, went to UMDCP, and their DH is the 35 guy at the Pentagon? A few clicks and you know my name.
It has happened twice on here.
DS was approached at school by a cadet within weeks of the fall semester. The cadet asked point blank are you Pima's DS? He figured it out because he overheard DS say his Dad flew Strike Eagles and was at the Pentagon. The poster asked does he also work on the 35?
I found someone from this site by their name via my DS at UPT. A poster (fencer) posted on the AFA thread that their DS was at Del Rio, but not his class start date. Off handedly I asked DS have you met an AFA twin from PA, thnking he would say no. Nope he said I think you are talking about ..... He is in my class.
~~~~ Fencer and I have been close friends and each others support system this year.
The point is how many cadets do you know that has a very close friend so high up in the Navy that has the ability to see their sister services budget? Basically, that is like saying something akin to my DH is the F35 guy. The cadre if lurking would immediately know who they are because if they are announcing it here you can take bets that they have had said the same remark at the set, or maybe the friend is a cadet there too.
That is the cadet that may get a sit down about forums because unlike ERAU they should know by now not to put it out there.
JMPO, the advice was good, but in this case ERAU didn't start it going down the slope. Alpha did by announcing his connection. ERAU, and everyone else that is stressed was looking to see the real connection to the info per se not the actual name. I.E. They are a Commander is different than saying the mom is the administration assistant. At least that would me if I asked. I am not to start googling their name to find their phone number and calling them. I just want to know how much weight to place on this info.
