AFROTC EA due date

Receiving an EA was truly a gift for me. I'm tech / rated, 98 PFA, 23 ACT, 2.7 GPA. I realize how extremely fortunate I am and although I know how hard I worked to get here, and I'm excited beyond belief that I am, I can't stop wondering how I was selected over some of my flight mates who weren't....the more I look at it the more it defies common theories on how selections are made.

Good luck and best wishes to those 200s and 250s who had to wait until today to find out about their EA. You haven't been forgotten.

DS is a 100 and watching these EA results for the last two years has been an eye-opener to say the least. Next year will be interesting.

And so it goes...

So, I just found out that I did not get picked up for an EA. :frown: I am the ONLY one in my detachment out of 17 that did not get a slot.

My stats:

Non-tech, Political Science
Non-scholarship
Non-rated, wanted to go JAG or OSI
3.7 CGPA
97 PFA
31 ACT and High 80's AFOQT
Top 1/3 Commander's Ranking

Needless to say, I am very dissapointed. I put a lot of time and heart into this program and I am sad to see it end so suddenly. I fully intend to finish out the year with my class to help them prep for SFT but my career in the Air Force is over at this point. I was offered 500 but given my credit number, it won't be possible for me.

Best of luck to all of you that got slots. I am sure I will see you all in the Air Force one day, but ROTC is apparently not the route that will get me there.

Off we go into the wild blue yonder...

Graduate and apply to OTS / OCS - My buddy just got accepted into the Navy

Today was a blood bath. 11 out of 25 remaining cadets (had 30 or so when packages went in but some were picked off by DODMERB, etc.). 44% down from last year's 93%.

Feeling incredibly blessed to have received an EA, I had forgotten about the extra boost my CGPA gets from my dual enrollment credits from HS, so my stats were ~3.15 cgpa, Tech, non rated, 1300 SAT (AFOQT AA score translates to 1410), 95 pfa, top 1/3 ranking.

Still feeling shell shocked, best bud for the past 2 years didn't get it. A lot of good people, great leaders, have been cut and it doesn't look like coming back as a 500 is a viable option for many of them. Kicker is that all but 1 or 2 not selected had similar or better stats than most of the selectees at our det last year. Feeling happy and incredibly sad at the same time, it's hard to find the words to comfort them. All I could do was let them know that this changes nothing about our friendship.

If your willing to consider switching to AROTC you may want to look into it.

With your stats you would probably be in the top 1/3 of the Battalion and should be well on you way to get Active Duty.

I'm sorry things did not work out for you, it's tough when you work hard and do everything right. The Army is downsizing as well but depending on the battalion there could be some slots available for someone with your stats and in your position. It may be at the least worth a discussion with the Recruiting Officer with AROTC.

Best of luck to you.

Congrats Non Ducor, it was a tough year. Approximately 600 EA slots less than last years class. From what I can tell this year's class recieved the least amount of EA slots in AFROTC history. Does not look like the near future is going to get any better either.

I was very surprised with the Nurse select rate, I am a AS100 nursing major and was originally told by cadre that the Air Force is critical for nurses. I believe it was close to 100% last year, then 43% this year, guess things changed rather quickly!

Previously, nurses always had 100% selection rate so this is a huge change this year.

Congrats on the EA!!! I felt the same way when so many got cut at my det. I was shell shocked on Tuesday - couldn't really focus on anything. Mix of happy and sad. Tough year for everyone. Hope to see you at FT!

Apparently they limited it to 50 nurse EAs for this year. We all thought my friend who was a nurse was a shoe-in and when she didn't get an EA, we were all super shocked.

Thanks man. Couldn't focus on anything today either, going through all the paperwork and getting issued all my gear and FTM felt like a dream. Starting to come back to earth now though. It's been a rough day, but I got some good news about some grades that were set to come out today too so I've been getting great news for me all day, just wish it didn't feel so bad lol. Ah well, time for some hot wings and Call of Duty before I get back to prepping for finals and FT. Nothing like shooting things and having good food to take the stress of the day away :thumb:.

Blood bath at our Det too. We finally got news today on EAs; while I got a slot and I am so happy and extremely happy, my three best friends in the program did not. Very bittersweet and I'm upset, but I hope they all get the chance to compete again next year. Congrats to everyone that got a slot. Maybe I'll see you down South for some fun in the sun:)

My DS is still waiting to find out his Max too. He said that he heard that some Det's have already found out. You would have thought they would have been released to all Det's at the same time, like EA's were?

I also heard some people got their max dates already. There's specific paperwork you have to do to get put in the system to get a max date and other things you need to turn in for your orders. The sooner you get your stuff in, the sooner you can get your max date, but I think they're just working through them as they come in.

Since I found out about my EA yesterday and did the paperwork and sent it in that night, I was put in the system today. Who knows though when they will finish informing everyone. The 300s at our det said they got their max dates like a week and a half-2 weeks before the first max date.

Anyword on when we'll find out our Max?

Our Capt said today that they were suppose to be out today but the headquarter's system was all messed up so they said Monday. But my Capt. laughed at that and said therefore it would be Tuesday or Wednesday lol

Thanks for the info. Can I ask what your source was for the information? Also curious if there is data for commander's ranking and AFOQT.

The information was provided to 200's by some of the Det leadership. This was all that was provided...no info (that I know of) on the Com rank or AFOQT scoring.
