Hello,

My son went through the army and air force rotc scholarships processes 3+ years ago (he is on-track to graduate USAFA 2019!). Anyway, my daughter is now interested in and applying for the USAF ROTC scholarship. I assumed it would be very similar to what my son did a few years ago, but I don't recall it being like this at all.

1) Does the detachment officer contact her after she fills out and uploads all forms?
2) Is there no essay or list of accomplishments this year? I told her to start coming up with her list and outline so she could write it quickly, but she said she doesn't see any essay or list of accomplishments to complete. Have they done away with it?
3) Is the medical exam for the physical fitness testing done through our primary or does she need to go to some military/govt office?
4) Where are the counselor cert form and the transcripts uploaded to? Under 'other documents'? We cannot even find where we downloaded them.

Sorry if this is supposed to be obvious... I must just be old.

DoDMERB will notify you who the doctor will be. It will be one they contract with. Your DD will then call the doctor and set up the appointment. I'll leave the rest to someone more knowledgeable on AFROTC.

Thanks kinnem.

ps - The REAL Carolina is my favorite SEC school.
Isn't it everyone's? :D
BTW - My son went to South Carolina. My wife went to East Carolina. My sister-in-law went to North Carolina. We argue all the time over which is the REAL Carolina. Glad to see you already know.
