Is the AFROTC interview a face to face interview, or can it be on Skype/face time?

You need to ask the mods to move this to the ROTC forums.

I know USAFA has tweaked the ALO position. However, many moons ago our DS's AFROTC interview was done by his ALO that did his USAFA interview. Thus, if you are applying to USAFA and AFROTC scholarship that might be an option. If only AFROTC than I suggest you get on the interview aspect ASAP because you can't be boarded until that is completed, and I believe at this point you will miss the Dec board which is the 2nd board to convene for HSSP. With every board that meets there will be less money in the pot of gold.

Thank you , Pima.
DS interviewed for USAFA via Skype last month, and in two days he’ll do another Skype interview for AFROTC scholarship with the same Air Force Major who did the USAFA interview. I don’t know ow if that is a good thing. Since interview is in Dec 2nd, he hopefully can be on the December 10-14 boards.

Remember that there is a drop date that the paperwork has to be submitted to at Maxwell. I can't swear by it, but I believe it is the Friday prior to the board. HQ AFROTC has to compile all of the packages to be ready at 08:00 Monday.
~ The boards are roundtables of military personnel, it is not 1 or 2 people. It is a group. There are multiple roundtables.

It is also to understand that this is a queue system. First in, first to be reviewed. The board will meet for those specific dates, if they don't get through all of them, than they will be rolled over to the next board.
~ IE Oct board had 1600 to review. Reviewed 1400. Last 200 submitted will now be the 1st 200 reviewed. Now for the Dec board, if they have 1800 new applicants, that means they have 2K to review. HQ AFROTC may say historically this is the big batch, so they have more members to review their packets and can get through all 2K.

Finally, I am not sure why the same officer is doing another interview. Yet, I wouldn't be worried about it at all. It could be that they want to see if they have a new SAT/ACT score or discuss if they understand the difference regarding AFROTC and USAFA.
~ IE on this site we call the AFROTC scholarship as a 2+2. Yes, they say it is 4 yrs., however, if not selected for SFT as a sophomore it is highly likely that they will be disenrolled from the program and lose the scholarship.

As I stated our DS's ALO did the interview, but only 1x. He actually called our DS and asked him if he wanted to do an interview at the local AFROTC unit, a school he did not intend to attend, or wanted him to submit it. DS agreed for him to submit it. At the end of that conversation the ALO told him OBTW I giving you the same points as USAFA. I maxed you for USAFA.
~ If you look at my previous posts, you will see in the end our DS opted AFROTC over USAFA. USAFA was just really not a match for him. He really only wanted USAFA to raise his chances of becoming a pilot. He is an AFROTC grad and a pilot in the ADAF.
