I am an AS200 on scholarship and developed psoriasis. My cadre heard back from AETC/SG via encrypted document and are stating they cannot open it on ARMS and have to go to a base and open it on their computer. They are saying I am disqualified but I have recently found out that my commander went behind my back and started a disenrollment package and require a statement from me in writing saying “I request to be disenrollment from AFROTC because (state reason).” They are trying to make me to pay scholarship money back and aren’t trying to help me out even though I’m medically disqualified from the program. They keep lying about things and Extending my disenrollment process. Im not going for a waiver and I’m not sure what to do from here.

Ordinarily, a medical DQ would result in a disenrollment with no payback. This usually results in a very heartbroken cadet/mid. However, someone who is disillusioned with becoming an officer and is "looking" for a medical DQ might result in a different outcome. You will have to carefully read your contract.

I am not saying that the above applies in your case, but based on your prior thread, it would seem that you are seeking a way out.

Im not going for a waiver

And there lies your problem.

You not requesting a waiver equates to asking to be disenrolled.

SFT dropped already, so my assumption is you got a slot. Only way out is if HQ AFROTC classifies you as a DQ, no waiver. You are choosing to not request a waiver. You stopped the process on your own accord. Your unit had no other option after you said this to them was to place you into the disenrollment process.

Contrary to your belief, they did not go behind your back. They just followed the HQ AFROTC regs. You declined requesting a waiver. That is your right. Had you requested a waiver and HQ came back with a NO, than like AROTC-dad stated you wouldn't have been on the hook.
~ You voided the terms of the contract, not the AF.

I wish you the best, but in my opinion, if you got an SFT slot and will not fight for a waiver, than be ready to be disenrolled and payback the 2 yrs of tuition.
~ They will allow it to be spread over 4 yrs, but it will include interest, just like any student loan.

Sorry, but that is how I see it.

PS I am a Jersey girl and will call a spade a spade. It was evident in your other post you wanted out of AFROTC before SFT results dropped. It feels like you are now playing the victim card.
~ If I am wrong, than there is an easy fix...request a waiver

OBTW, your det cannot force you to sign squat right there on the spot. You have the right to sit on it for X amt of time. You have the right to create a defense. You have the right to have a copy of the paperwork.

Emphasis mine.

How many cadets do you think currently:

- Are an AS200, and
- Are on scholarship, and
- Have a medical DQ package in the works for psoriasis, and
- Have cadre that cannot open an encrypted document concerning all of the above on a non-.mil network (and recently told you that), and
- Are not pursuing a waiver for the abovementioned condition?

Great username you picked, but it is totally irrelevant at this point as you have almost certainly individually identified yourself-- in the same thread where you are backbiting and disparaging Air Force officers. Active AFROTC cadre members visit (and sometimes post on) this forum-- do you realize that?

Do you realize that AFROTC cadre communicate on a regular basis between schools, especially within the same state?

There are a very small number of officers in the Air Force, and only a minute fraction that are currently serving in an AFROTC detachment. Everybody knows everybody.

...I’m not sure what to do from here.

Easy. Stop the derogatory comments about your leadership. Stop the unprofessional behavior. At this point, stop posting on the internet about this.

From your other thread:
I am an AS200 in AFROTC and I want to get out of my scholarship contract. I received an HSSP Type 1 scholarship and have now decided I don't want to be in the military. While in college, I have developed seborrheic dermatitis (eczema) which I believe is medically disqualifying. I sent paperwork from a dermatologist to DODMERB, and my NCO doesn't really know what to do.

Again, emphasis mine, and I'm really only posting for future readers.

This is exactly what you do not do in a public forum. Especially when trying to break a contract without penalty.

You also have a right not to sign.

My apologies I just wanted a place to rant and I shouldn’t have said the things I said. I wish I could delete this post. Thank you for the replies everyone
