So I've qualified for the afrotc scholarship, and now I'm just waiting to hear back about an interview date, but I wanted to know the significance/importance of ranking the top 5 schools. Does it matter which schools you put there? Do they have to be schools you have a decent shot at getting into? Why do they only limit the ranking to 5 schools? Answers to any of these questions are appreciated. :)

AFROTC you choose what school to take the scholarship to, unlike Navy and Army. I think it's more informational for the AF.

So does this mean if I were to receive the scholarship, regardless of which top 5 schools I listed, I can pick any school w an AFRTOC detachment?

You are correct! Any college that has an AFROTC Detachment, your scholarship will be honored there, you are not locked in, to any of your choices.

YES. However, make sure that you meet the requirements of the school you want to attend ROTC program. Some have separate procedures to enroll in ROTC. Make sure you are talking to the Detachment.
