Hello. My AFROTC application is complete, to include an officer interview. I've also done the Fitness Assessment and been cleared by DodMERB. Under updates in my portal, I found this:

"your scholarship application status is "Eligible".Your AFROTC Scholarship interview has been received and processed. Your application will meet the next available selection board, scheduled October 19. Results will be released on or about October 30. You can check back here to view the results. We will also mail you a notification letter explaining whether or not you've been offered a scholarship."

What does this mean? Am I supposed to personally appear before the selection board on October 19th? Or is it only my application that will be reviewed/decided upon?

Thank you.

No, you don't appear before the selection board. They meet, review all applications ready for that board, and then notify you through your portal.

It means in short that your application is complete and this is now turned over to a board who will adjudicate/ process as many of the applications they can in an upcoming review in their next session. It gives you the date of when that is. They will then notify you if a decision has been made NEAR the time they stated. You are not involved in the review process - your part is done - you just sit tight now and await their decisions. No, you don't need to attend the board - you would not be let in if you showed up:)

FYI, sometimes the board gets through all completed applications, and sometimes you may be pushed to the next / a later board if they aren't ready to make a decision.

Congrats on completing your application and interview. Keep your eyes on this board as usually a couple of weeks after the board meets you'll see a spike in people sharing they were notified of decisions.

Good luck and thanks for your willingness to serve.

DD is doing her fitness test in a week. How do you schedule an interview? Do you have to do fitness first? She is trying to get in on the first board

Yes, she needs to do the fitness test first. She must complete every part of the application before it is submitted, after which a local AFROTC detachment will contact her about scheduling an interview. If she hasn't done the fitness test by now, I'm not sure how high the chances are of her getting on the first board. This is because ROTC says that it could take up to 40 days for them to reach out and get an interview. It's already October, and the first board meets at the middle to end of this month. Hope that helps, and good luck to her.

She got in 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

That's so great for you that she made it for the first board. We tried but we're waiting on the interview. I hope you get good news from the board!
