AFROTC Rated Boards 2016

PCSM was always 40%, that factor remained unchanged.

If I remember correctly, the last rated board was commanders ranking at 50%, GPA at 15%, PFA at 10%, Field Training at 10%, and PCSM at 15%. This should be the first time that PCSM was ever at 40%.

The attached image shows the Aug 2013 version of AFROTCI 36-2011 and you can see that even then PCSM was 40%.

I have a 53 on the pilot portion of the AFOQT but have yet to take the TBAS so I have no idea what my current PCSM is yet. However, I am about to get 15 hrs of training in a C-172. Based off of past experiences how much will 15 flight hours come into play with PCSM 2.0?

You really won't be able to predict how much it will help until after you take the TBAS. When you find out your PCSM, it'll tell you what your score will become with the addition of "X" hours. Typically most cadets see the greatest 'value' at 20 hours.

Just in time to fly solo hah.

My Colonel let me know that they expect to hear back from the rated boards around the beginning of march

Ah, 3 Jan 16 was the last day to update PCSM (TBAS and Flying Hours). 14 Jan was the last day to nominate and update data. All they are doing from here on out is verifying data between dets and HQ then they meet on 1 Feb 16. Slots are planned to be released on 8 Feb 16 if people didn't know.

Who informed you slots are to be released on 8 Feb?

8 Feb is what I heard as well. Alright, let's see what my verdict is...

GPA: 3.17, Math major
PCSM: 71
PFA: 95.7
RSS: Top-Third
FT Ranking: DG

Just got official word of the new Order of Merit score weighting factors for this year's board. See attachment.

Wow this was extremely helpful, I've been looking for specifics about what scores they used for ABM. Thanks for posting!

I haven't gotten a specific date, but my cadre are reporting a "Mid to Late February" window.

I received a memo from my Cadre and they received it from AFROTC HQ. In the memo it states the board will meet 1 Feb 16 and the result will be uploaded to Wings on 8 Feb 16. But,if this is anything like the release of non-rated AFSC's, then we can expect to receive them around late February or early March.

My cadre said that they rated board results will be released early March

So in relation to getting or not getting a slot, what do you guys think of the phrase, "Every job in the Air Force is a good job."?

Every job can be a good job, but everyone still has a preference. I'm sure if I don't get a pilot slot I'll be disappointed, not because whatever else I get wouldn't be as good of a job or something, but rather because I wasn't selected for my preference.
