AFROTC Rated Boards 2016

Sled, noketchup (and whoever else)
Thoughts?

GPA: 3.8
PCSM: 70
FT: 7 of 19
PFA: 100
RSS: Top or at least middle 1/3, no way to know where in there for sure.

I've asked on here before but my stats have changed slightly.

Pretty good stats in my eyes. I was able to nab a rated slot (RPA) and none of my stats come close except maybe commanders ranking.

As in you are sitting pretty well. Like @I-am-Will I picked up an RPA slot with GPA 3.45, FA 95, PCSM 51, Pilot 82, FT middle, and RSS (who knows?). Wasn't qualified for pilot or CSO because of some medical stuff at the time so that's why I didn't end up with pilot or CSO (not trying to sound overconfident).

Would somebody who got a ENJJPT slots post there stats please. And someone who got picked up for a supplementary board Pilot slot

I don't recall ENJJPT coming out until like oct but 45Golf posted the 2015 averages on an earlier page.

ENJJPT AVG:
GPA: 3.509
PFA: 98.58
PCSM: 83.2
FT Rank: 3.65/20
RSS: 3.48/20

I believe there were only roughly 20 given out in 2915...

I knew a guy who got picked up for ENJJPT at that time, I know he was DG, number 1 in RSS, PFA was around the average, and his PCSM was mid-90s.

I'm retaking the TBAS soon, will post stats when that happens.

I'd have to agree with Pima in that I should probably wait until the slots "settle." What other kind of assistance can they be to me? All I think I can do is cross my fingers for a alternate slot.

Absolutely agree, you may get picked up on the supp board within a few weeks. I was on the pilot alternate list when I got my RPA slot last Fall and was bumped to pilot earlier this year. It was a unique situation because I was a nonselect to begin with, but other folks had similar stories to mine. So I'm sure you're on the alternate list for pilot anyways, and if you are high enough on that list you could a slot as late as a month before you commission, it's not unheard of!

I should have clarified regarding talking to your cadre about it, that may help if you did not have a slot to begin with. My det CC was intel so who knows if she had connections, but most likely it was on the supp boards with RPA needs.

How do my stats look for getting an ENJJPT slot?

GPA-3.5 (Mechanical Engineering)
RSS-Top 1/3
FT-DG
PCSM-90
PFA-100

I got ENJJPT and my stats are:

2.9 GPA
#1 RSS
12/24 FT
98 PCSM
99.7 FA

Do you care to share your flight hours and AFOQT? I'm trying to get a feel for how tough it is to get a PCSM that high. I got a 99 Pilot AFOQT, and should have the 201 hours...

98 PCSM...is dang high. If I recall correctly at a certain point it doesn't matter point wise when it comes to hrs. I think at 201 you maxxed out on pts about 80 hrs earlier.
~ No whipping me with a wet lo mein noodle...just an example that 200 is not going to be a huge game changer after you get that PPL

Emory,

I get you are concerned, but if I am correct you are not up for FY17 rated board. You will be meeting FY18 rated, commissioning in May 2019,
~ 5 yr program. 300 now (FY17), 400 FY 18...rated board. 700 FY19...commission.

NOBODY...I repeat NOBODY here knows what the pool size or slots available for FY18 rated. It is foolish to ask for stats for this board because they are FY17 COMMISSION...not rated, but COMMISSIONED.
~ FY17 rated will commission in 2018. If I am right you are commissioning in 2019. 2 years from 45Golf.

In a year from now they may have 1400 Pilot slots and only 800 applicants, yet, maybe this year they could have had 2000 applicants and 1500 slots. Or vise a verse.
~ Point is, it is not as clear cut as you might think. A lot has to do with the pool and slots.

Your concern should now be your cgpa.

Also look at one biggie on 45's resume...RSS #1
~ My bet if they are number 1, they are probably also at the very least CVWC, if not the CWC.
~~ RSS is a huge chunk of the score

What is your position within the det?
~ There is one thing to be 1 of my top cadets and another to be my TOP cadet.

I would also say, that I don't know what college 45 attends, but 2.9 at MIT or CalTech as a tech major and 2.9 at ERAU (no offense) are 2 different things academically. Be honest with yourself regarding the rigor of your college from an academic perspective.

All very good points, as usual. I know the GPA is my biggest concern, and it has been climbing for the last year or so. However, realistically it can only improve so much, which I have come to accept. Therefore I am trying to see how to potentially make up for a lower-end GPA, even if it is at an accredited engineering school and in a rigorous degree. Not necessarily looking for confidence that I am A-ok, but more along the lines of motivation to keep it up because I've still got a shot at it. Thank you @Pima!!!

Also, personally I don't see it as foolish to simply ask for his stats regarding the PCSM. I doubt PCSM calculations have changed all that much, and it seems we are in a similar situation and therefore I could learn from him...regardless of his year. Just trying to gather as much info as possible!

No harm in collecting data, I know exactly how you're feeling and the more info you get your hands on the better you feel. My AFOQT pilot was a 94 and I had 242 hours when I took my TBAS. It seems like you know this already, but 201+ hours will put you in the highest "bonus points" bracket. Allow me to go into further depth about some other aspects. As far as RSS, I was top of my fiscal-year class. I go to a small detachment; would my RSS change had I gone somewhere else? No way to tell now. CGPA: My GPA was 2.9ish when I went up for the spring boards. I do recognize that it's abysmal and at the end of the day, all they see is a number. There is no consolation for tech vs non-tech or ivy-league vs state school. Best of luck to you!

I'm pretty much in the same boat as everyone else, just trying to gather as much info as possible. My stats are:

FT 8/18
PFA 97
CGPA 3.65
PCSM 96
RSS ?

The question that I would like to ask you all, what is the best way to approach your Det CC in order to find out your RSS? I realize that not all Dets or DeT CC's are the same but I would still like some advice on this. Thanks in advance!
