Hi, I would just like to begin by saying that I know these threads are very common but I just need a benchmark and feedback from others on this forum to see what I need to work on until I apply to the ROTC scholarships when I turn 17 in less than a year.

A few things about myself:
-I attend one of the best high schools in the state and nation as a junior
-No class rank due to no rank policy
-3.5 out of 4 unweighted GPA, 1300 PSAT
-Civil Air Patrol (just started)
-Active in my school church group
-Treasurer of a charity club
-Did varsity wrestling for a year but didn't like it so I went to civil air patrol
-Shift manager for a school charity health cafe
-Newspaper editor
-School Librarian's assistant
-Freshman mentor
-My gpa is lower because I messed up freshman year but its obvious on my transcript it is obvious that I improved (to give you an idea my average went up from a 86% weighted to a 97.5% weighted)
-Currently as of now hold a part time job during the school year and have worked different jobs since the beginning of 2016 summer.

Any advice at this point would be tremendously appreciated.

You’ll have a chance if you apply.

Most of this looks good. How's your PT? Start taking the SAT I can't believe you haven't taken it yet. That's really all I have. DS's sheet looked like your and he's done fine with a 3.5 year. Branching active with MP.

Try another sport if possible. Varsity sports experience seems to be a weaker area for you. You still have time to improve the GPA even more and sounds like you are going in the right direction for that. Good luck!

There really isnt anymore time in my schedule with everything else I do to do another varsity sport :/ ... But I am trying to go back into tae kwon do and getting my black belt soon, should I invest time in doing that to show off more athletics like you said?

PT's fine, I bodybuild so it comes natural to me but I am just lacking in the running section but it will be worked on. thanks!

Bodybuilding is great for discipline just go easy on the Speedos. I'm really serious about the SAT though take it as many times as you can. You don't want to leave this to just one test. Your stats show leadership and a variety so I wouldn't worry about the lack of varsity sports too much. Apply, apply, apply..

Yeah I was going to take the Dec 2 SAT but I wanted to see how I can do on the ACT so I took that one instead... turns out the SAT is so much easier for me at least. Scores will come soon and depending on it to tell me if I need to be retaking it or register for the very next SAT

Great! Everyone thinks they have time, but lemme tell ya that summer in between junior and senior year goes really fast, you want your perfect packet before any deadlines are near, because once submitted most of the info is locked in. Sounds like your on the right track, good luck! Even if you choose Air Force!

Lol yeah Air Force and Army have a lot more scholarships to hand out than the Navy and Marines so they are definitely on my list, along with the fact that they have a lot of different jobs available to me as an officer
