Greetings everyone,

I have been a cadet basically for a few weeks. I'm from Puerto Rico and the program go started again last week after the hurricane. I was in this situation and I haven't found information in official manuals or handbooks. So before asking my flight commander about it I would like to ask you guys.

Every time we get to the track to do PT we need to pass by a table to sign an attendance list.
I was in this situation were most of the male POCs were at the table and when I got there I greet them all by saying good morning gentlemen, they asked me if I didn't know their names to which I proceed to greet 9 different POCs one by one as they commanded me.

Is there any regulations that states what is the proper way to greet multiple officers that are gathered in the same place?
Or the official way to do it if to greet them all one by one?

Thank you very much!

What an incredible lesson provided by a set of bozos.

Here is a example of how this was handled by one of the most famous Marine Officers (who began his career as an enlisted Marine before becoming an Officer.) "Chesty Puller" is legendary within the USMC community.)

"Chesty was loved by enlisted men for his constant actions to improve their lot. Puller insisted upon good equipment and discipline; once he came upon a second lieutenant who had ordered an enlisted man to salute him 100 times for missing a salute. Chesty told the lieutenant, "You were absolutely correct in making him salute you 100 times lieutenant, but you know that an officer must return every salute he receives. Now return them all." https://www.mfd.org/toddy/

Leadership lessons are provided by both good and bad leaders. Learn from them all.

Don't use their names...What you did was correct. You may be expected to know people's names at Field Training but that is just a tactic that they use to add stress during that time. If this continues and it is as you described I could even say this was hazing. If you ever feel that way make sure to talk to a member of the cadre in private.

Congrats, you've learned that a disproportionate amount of AFROTC members are....well, words I can't say here.

Pay no mind to them, they're arrogant idiots who will be smoked by SNCOs soon enough.

Signed,
A very salty and "done" AS400

What a gaggle of d-bags.

Thank you everyone.

I just learned that some of my fellow cadets come to this forum to look for information and I truly don't want to get in any trouble for asking this here before going to my flight commander.

Is there any way to delete the post?

Thank you once again

Hola kalek, I am in the same program as you in the one year program...I am wondering who you are? What program are you part of? You can PM me if you wish to talk privately. According to how I was explained you were right in just saying good morning gentlemen...I guess they were just testing your temple. My first day it was like that now they barely mess with me. You just gotta show lots of confidence and show that they don't bother or face you and they will leave you alone and go look for the next Cadet that looks scared.

Thank you everyone.

Nobody will found out...there is now way to link you to an identity.

Although this is an anonymous forum, don't be fooled your details will give you away many times. How many cadets do you think are from Puerto Rico, most likely a 100 or at best a 250 (new to the det) attend a university where they were out for sometime after a hurricane and pass a table for PT. Pretty much tells me that they are not at Penn State or Boise.

Now for kalek, I would not concern myself if they put 2 +2 together to figure out it is you.

True @Pima when you are so specific describing a situation it can be easier to identify the author. Thanks for the observations.
