AFROTC scholarship question regarding additional information

My son has received a Type 7 AFROTC scholarship. When/will we received additional information regarding this scholarship? Will we received something in the mail? Does AFROTC notify my school of choice about the scholarship?

If I remember correctly most of the information will be emailed to him. My son got very little information last year via postal service. My oldest son who also did AFROTC received his info via mail though. I became concerned at one point last year when no packet of information arrived and asked my son about it and was told "I received the stuff weeks ago in an email."

I did get an email recently from a school on my list that they were notified of my AFROTC scholarship and had some instructions for me. Everything came by email for me so far. You also need to accept the scholarship through the link they should have sent you.

My DS checked with his detachment and was told most of the paperwork and forms will be signed at the detachment when school starts. Everything was electronic for him this year, no mail except for the DODMERB confirmations.

The gaining detachment may or may not reach out to your DS depending on their program. Most important is to make sure your DS fills out the online acceptance by the required date.
