AFROTC scholarship questions/thoughts

The only conversion I know of is Type 7 4 yr to Type 2 3 yr.

Let's say you can convert 2 to 1, but it would probably be like the 7 to 2. You would have to pay out of pocket totally for the 1st yr....basically the cost would be the same in the end, you are just paying it all up front yr 1. Plus, you would not receive a book stipend or monthly allowance, so adding that in you would be down @ another 4500.

Type 1 is the golden ticket. They only offer about 5% to the candidates.

The AF is a business, and must work in the fiscal constraints of their annual budget.
