I received a non-select from The USAFA on 21 April. Backup plan is AFROTC (already arranged) at OU, but I'm concerned about the likelihood of receiving the job slots that I want through AFROTC. I definitely want a combat position (CRO, A-10 pilot, Combat Systems Operator, etc); what are my chances of receiving a slot that I want through AFROTC? If my current stats are any indication of my future performance, I aced the CFA and I have a 3.8 college GPA through dual enrollment.

Chances are pretty much the same if you perform well. You are not gureneteed a job no matter what comissioning source you use.

Right, but is there any likelihood that I will get a various combat position in comparison to a desk job? For example, many pilots are being sidetracked with UAV's. Am I in a similar situation; meaning, is there a high chance of being sidetracked for an administration/desk job?

Dude, there is legitamitely no way of determining that with you about to be a college freshmen.

The things that go into getting the job you want are how you good you are in different areas. GPA, fitness, test scores, and your rank amongst your peers determine this. No guarantees, you get what youve earned. If you do poorly, you'll get a career that is less-liked. If you do well, you can get the career you want.

Might I also point out at the end of the day, it's all about the needs of the AF.
Two friends both classed as missiles and wanted CE & Dev Engr. Missiles wasn't anywhere on their form 53. Month before commissioning they were re-classed both 62E as Dev engr's.

Someone else posted this AFSC guide link- but it would behoove you to read it and understand the extent of each AFSC. http://www.afrotcdet755.com/CadetsDocuments/other/AFSC Guide - CGO Perspectives.pdf

Thanks to whoever provided it in the other thread.
