AFSC Selection Process (2015)

My sons' very good friend, graduated top 5 in the class, requested pilot. Got AFIT. Still waiting on pilot, 3+ years out. Needs of the AF always come first. Ironically, had he been 50th or 200th, he'd probably be flying today.

Maybe her son wants RPAs? Or missiles???

He doesn't want pilot and he's looking for a spot based on his major. There's only a few of those who would qualify, and he'd be happy with any of his top 5 so I'm sure he's good.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe last year's class received their AFSCs late October.

My son, class of 2015 (bros), received his rated slot on September 22. 2014. The non-rated AFSC were released about a month later with grad/med/law school options, too.

Rated selections being released today in the squadrons. My son got a Pilot slot.
