After BCT Items

I did a search on refrigerators on the forums and came up zilch. Are the mini ones allowed in the dorm rooms, if so after bct? after recognition...

I'm thinking not until a few years have passed...

That's a privilege that 3*s earn, sometimes after comm's challenge sometimes not until the spring.

Our daughter also had us bring her a good quality down comforter at Parents' Weekend. She was in Sjian, on the ground floor, with a room facing toward the walk way from the Visitor's Center. The temperature fluctuated significantly and in winter a warm comforter was helpful at night and saved making the bed every morning. She folded it up during the day and stowed it in a drawer. After Recognition (March) she and her room mates were allowed to add their own (bright) sheets, pillow cases, etc. We took our daughter a printer on Acceptance Day and a monitor (24") on Parents' Weekend. She was allowed to keep the printer at Acceptance Day but the monitor had to go into storage for a week or two -- it is very squadron dependent -- some allow phones, printers, and monitors earlier than others. Plastic snap lid boxes for snack storage are very useful (take or send for Acceptance). For girls (and I'm guessing for guys), their own underwear from home is a big treat after Acceptance Day. We were surprised to find out that the cadet eye clinic will NOT issue or fill contact prescriptions -- so we have kept our daughter's prescription current with her eye doctor at home (with a visit at Christmas) and she has filled her contact prescriptions (after Acceptance Day) either through her doctor at home or over the internet.

My son has had no problem getting his contact prescription renewed each year at the clinic. he then takes the prescription to Sam's club and gets it filled. You don't even have to be a member to get them there.
