As you know, my son's knee's made it thru the AF and USNA waiver-granted procees but he just landed a 4 yr NROTC scholarship too and thus DODMERB posted this new one today - I assume this is what we would expect to see?

Agency: US Navy ROTC

Current Medical Status ( as of 3/15/2007) : Remedial Status/Post Waiver Review

D224.90 - Chronic retro patellar knee pain syndrome, history of

So I guess we just sit and wait to see if they ask for more info and/or hopefully re-use the USNA waiver granted earlier this year?

Thanks as always. DKnightfam

Dknightfam,

Since it just was put up on the web site today, the verbiage will change from "Remedial Status/Post Waiver Review" to "Pending Waiver Submission/Review " by tomorrow morning. Once it changes that means the waiver authority has the file to look at. BUMED has to make a separate decision for the NROTC package. Most likely it will be the same decision as USNA's, but there is the chance that is could be different.

DoDMERB's IT folks are having issues with that at the moment. You are correct that normally it should show that once the waiver is granted and there are additional remedials that DoDMERB needs to chase. I'm not sure what they are doing in the background, but right now the day the disqualification is added that verbiage is showing up incorrectly, and once the file is posted to the waiver authorities tonight it will change to "Pending Waiver Submission/Review".

This was a reply to erbium, before he deleted his post. He had stated the "Remedial Status/Post Waiver Review" means the wavier was granted. I've explained this above.

Yep, you're right on the money - that's exactly what happened this morning! :) Siting tight now....

Just wanted to let you know RET that the NROTC waiver came thru today just as expected. Took about 2.5 weeks and followed the waiver that we already had from USNA....

Thanks again for your support here on the forum. Just thought I'd give you an update to re-affirm that the system still works like you remembered.. :)

Great news! I'm glad I was able to provide a little bit of support! Good luck to your son!
