I'm currently enlisted and this is my last shot at applying, as I turn 23 in December. I've heard of some plebes having age waivers and was wondering if this was real? Hopefully I receive some positive notice in the next week or two(no word as of yet).

The only age waivers I am familiar with were related to those who had deployments supporting OIF and OEF. Best bet is to call the fleet admissions coordinator to see if these messages are still in effect and if they are, if you qualify.

Age is a statutory requirement. To my knowledge, it cannot be waived.

If you do a quick Google search for USNA age waiver it takes you to the ALNAV soliciting enlisted applicants. It mentions limited age waivers in accordance with Defense Authorization Bill for 2012. This message was from Aug 2014 for class of 2019. I haven't dug into the Bill, but I remember vaguely when this came out. I think there are stipulations tied to deployments in war zones and a cap on the number of those allowed past the age. I think it has an expiration date of this year or next. Dig around on Google for research and talk to the fleet coordinator, if anyone knows this bill and how it applies to 'limited age waivers' it is them.
